ISLA MAYOR (SEVILLA)

Hoy tenía pensado ir hasta el Centro de Visitantes José Antonio Valverde en Doñana a ver si ya se veían algunos Gansos o Grullas, pero no ha podido ser. Llegué muy temprano a la Dehesa de Abajo, todavía no había amanecido y me dirigí hacia Doñana, pero cuando iba a entrar en el muro por donde cruza el río Guadiamar me encontré con varios coches parados ya que el muro estaba totalmente inundado de agua debido a que no ha parado de llover desde hace dos semanas, incluso había dos grúas sacando algún coche de allí. Me quedaban dos opciones, una, irme por Villamanrique de la Condesa, pero había que dar un rodeo muy grande, y otra intentar cruzar por el muro de Isla Mayor, elegí esta última, pero cuando llegué pude comprobar que el muro estaba mucho más inundado que el primero:

Así que no tuve más remedio que repetir el itinerario del domingo anterior, por las marismas de Isla Mayor. Primero me fuí camino de Veta La Palma, observando las típicas aves que ahora se pueden ver en las marismas, una vez cosechado el arroz: muchas Cigüeñas comunes y muchas Gaviotas Sombrías y Reidoras, también pude ver un bando grandísimo de Correlimos común compartido con Chorlitejos Grandes. Pude disfrutar del espectáculo de vuelo del gran bando de Correlimos común. En el camino me encontré a esta pobre Gaviota Sombría que estaba recién atropellada, me bajé para ver si llevaba alguna anilla en sus patas y pude comprobar que todavía estaba caliente.

I could enjoy the spectacle of flight of the great decree of Dunlines. In the way I thought to this poor Shaded Gull that it was newly hasty, stooped to see if it was taking some ring in his legs and could verify that still it was warm.

Luego estuve dando una vuelta por las marismas de Isla Mayor y viendo gran cantidad de Gaviotas alimentándose sobre todo de cangrejos de río, que en esta época quedan totalmente expuestos a los depredadores, ya que los agricultores han cosechado el arroz y los cangrejos tienen que abandonar los campos de arroz en busca de los caños de riego donde hay mayor cantidad de agua y mayor cobertura vegetal. He podido observar las siguientes especies:

Then I was giving a return for Isla Mayor's marshes and seeing great quantity of Gulls feeding especially of crayfishes, who in this epoch remain totally exposed to the predators, since the farmers have harvested the rice and the crabs have to leave the fields of rice in search of the tubes of irrigation where there is major quantity of water and major plant coverage. Eso es todo. Parece que la lista de especies se ha acortado un poco. Habrá que regresar al Brazo del Este lo antes posible pero primero se tendrá que secar el fango que hay en los carriles principales.
